Prince William’s first published article

William has written an article for the Telegraph, called ‘How I believe that society can learn from the military’ in honor of Armed Forces Day. You can read it here. I think it’s great – he’s the second royal to be bitten by the writing bug (Charlotte Casiraghi has already been writing articles for various publications), although he probably won’t make a career out of it.  He also celebrated his 27th birthday this weekend. 

Anyway, I know I’ve been neglecting this blog for a long time…I am still in school and it’s very time consuming. I have some scans to put up…some recent and some older. I’ll try to put them up this week but I am not going to make any promises.

Royal Heirs in Vanity Fair

The June 2009 issue of Vanity Fair has a portfolio on some of the most eligible heirs in the world.  Among them are Andrea Casiraghi and Princess Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis.

This slideshow has outtakes of the heirs (Andrea is at 21; Elisabeth at 6 and 19).

The online article only briefly mentions the two.

Princess Marie gives birth to boy

Princess Mary from Denmark has given birth to a baby boy.  Details at the official announcement.
Such wonderful news to wake up to! 

Frederik and Mary on Parade

Frederik and Mary are on the cover of this week’s Parade magazine.  This magazine comes with most Sunday papers and if your newspaper carries it, then it should have come with this past Sunday’s paper.  For those of you who might have missed it, Parade has the article online:  Do We Need Royalty in the 21st Century?

I actually have the Parade issue, but since the article is the same as the one online, I’m not so sure if I should scan it, since it is a bit wide for my scanner.  Plus, the pictures aren’t new.  Still, it’s a pretty good article.

Forbes Hottest Young Royals 2009

Forbes has a new listing for the hottest young royals on the planet.  Crown Princess Victoria is no longer on the list, because their rules state that royals must be unmarried and under 35 to be on the list, and of course, Victoria is now engaged to her boyfriend Daniel.

Princess Eugenie is now on the list.  Other royals from last year were shuffled around – the Thai designer princess is now number six, for example.  The top two is exactly the same…surprise surprise.

This list has only ten royals, and there’s no word on whether Forbes will do a TV special with the E network like they did with last year’s list.

Site Restored / People Magazine Archive

The sites are back up now. Hopefully there will be no more problems.

I’ve actually know about this for a while – People magazine has made all of their back issues available to read online – for free. Each issue has it’s own mini site, and from there you can read the articles within. Some issues are also available in PDF format. This stretches all the way back to the 1970s, when People first debuted.

Lately they’ve added a section where you can browse the archive by year. You can also do a search in the archives.

The archive is at their site People.com. I’d add ’scans’ but I figure that you can find the royal stuff on your own. Here’s a bit of trivia – the one person that had the most People covers was Diana, Princess of Wales.

Bandwidth Exceeded

I slightly went over on my bandwidth this month, so access should either be restored in 12 hours or by April 1.  Sorry about that, I was using too much for backup purposes.

Anyway, the sites affected are youngroyals.pigeonhole-this.com and www.pigeonhole-this.com/Coppermine.  I didn’t use actual links for those so that you can be discouraged to actually visit until this is resolved.

As for the latest pictures posted here on the blog, they’re all hosted on Photobucket, of which is in good standing, so you should have no problems seeing those.

Sorry for the lack of updates…it’s kind of hard to keep up with this blog lately, and I recently had some computer troubles.  I also may be traveling soon, but I hope to start updating regularly soon.

Victoria finally getting married

The Associated Press (among many others) is reporting some completely awesome news:  Crown Princess Victoria is finally engaged to her long-time boyfriend, Daniel Westling.  I am SO excited, but we all have to wait a year to see the wedding, of which is scheduled for summer of 2010.

Congratulations to Victoria, Daniel, the royal family and all the people of Sweden!
